  • Description: On the initiative of Foreign Minister Richard Sandler, the Nordic heads of state gathered in Stockholm on 18 October 1939. The aim was, in the light of the outbreak of war and the Soviet threat against Finland, to make it known that the Nordic countries stood together in times of unease. They especially wanted to show that Finland had the support of its Nordic neighbours, in case there was a conflict with the Soviet Union. Part of Paramount Journal 1939.
